Southeast Asia Information Port (www.dnyxxg.com) – From November 24th to 28th, 2025, a business delegation organized by the Indonesian Embassy in Vientiane visited Laos to conduct investment and research activities, focusing on exploring the prospects for trade and investment cooperation between the two countries in the fields of mining, agriculture, and tourism.
The delegation consisted of seven Indonesian companies covering multiple sectors: in the mining sector, it included the state-owned Mining Indonesia Company (MIND ID), the mineral and metal mining company PT Aneka Tambang Tbk (Antam), and the gold mining company PT J Resources Asia Pasifik Tbk; in the agriculture and import/export sector, it included PT Vienison Indonesia and PT Fortuna Agri International; in the construction sector, it included PT Global Sukses Partnership; and in the tourism and MICE sector, it included Aldo Holiday and Convex.
During the visit, the delegation met with several companies and potential partners, including the Lao Mining Development State Enterprise (LMDSE), PTL Holdings, and Gold and Silver Bank, and visited the Department of Geology and Mines of the Lao Ministry of Industry and Commerce to learn about local mining regulations and licensing procedures. The delegation also met with the Lao National Chamber of Commerce and Industry (LNCCI) and the Lao Young Entrepreneurs Association (YEAL) to discuss ways to strengthen cooperation in the private sector.
“This visit serves as a platform connecting businesses from both countries and is a crucial step in promoting mutually beneficial investment,” said Indonesian Ambassador to Laos, Grata Nda Verdanintyas. He added that Laos has enormous potential in the mining, agriculture, and tourism sectors, and practical cooperation between the two sides will benefit the people of both nations.

In addition to the talks in Vientiane, the delegation also conducted on-site visits to Champasak Province and Luang Prabang: in Champasak Province, they investigated the Bora Van Highland coffee plantation, rice mill, and tourism development opportunities in the Four Thousand Islands; in Luang Prabang, they discussed cooperation on halal-certified products with local businesses and visited the Okpottok Handicraft Center to learn about local crafts and culture.
This visit is a concrete step by Indonesia to deepen economic ties with Laos, echoing the cooperation consensus reached between Indonesian President Prabowo Subianto and Lao Prime Minister Somxay Kommasith during the previous ASEAN Summit. Both sides focused on exploring cooperation opportunities in mining, agriculture, and technology transfer and personnel training. Indonesia hopes to promote foreign investment, expand mutually beneficial business opportunities, and contribute to the economic growth of both countries through such activities.
