Southeast Asia Information Port News (www.dnyxxg.com) – The 18th Nagqu Livestock Products Fair 2025, a five-day event, concluded on December 19th in Seni District, Tibet Autonomous Region. The fair featured over 100 themed booths and more than 400 truck booths, showcasing hundreds of local specialty products from Nagqu's 11 counties (districts). It attracted over 10,000 visitors daily, with total sales reaching 406 million yuan (RMB), exceeding 400 million yuan for the first time.

Nagqu City is located in northern Tibet, with an average altitude exceeding 4,500 meters. Livestock farming is a pillar industry and a traditional source of livelihood for farmers and herders. This year's fair attracted 1,485 participating businesses, including 172 cooperative organizations (enterprises) and nearly 1,000 farming and herding households. Seni District, as the leading county (district) in Nagqu's livestock industry, ranked first among all counties (districts) with total sales exceeding 97.4 million yuan.

On the first day of the trade fair, Danba, the Party Secretary of Lujiu Village in Maiba Township, Shenzha County, told a reporter from China News Service that the livestock product trade fair is an important source of income for herders in northern Tibet. At this year's fair, he represented the village cooperative, bringing 31 slaughtered yaks, 110 sheep, as well as ghee, yak and sheep hides, etc., with a total value of over 500,000 yuan. He plans to distribute the proceeds back to the village as dividends after selling them all.

During a break in the interview, a customer purchased a yak foreleg and hind leg at the Lujiu Village booth, paying 4,296 yuan via QR code. The customer said he planned to use one of the yak legs to make dried yak meat, and the other as a gift for the Tibetan New Year.

It is understood that the Nagqu City Livestock Product Trade Fair originated as a temporary market spontaneously formed by herders selling beef and mutton. Subsequently, government departments specially designated a venue to provide services, and the scale has gradually expanded.

It's worth mentioning that this year's exhibition innovated its communication model, with many video bloggers hosting live streams to give viewers an immersive "virtual tour," providing real-time explanations of product features and pricing information. This allowed the high-altitude exhibition to overcome geographical limitations and garner widespread online attention. The organizers also strictly implemented quarantine and inspection procedures, set up fair scale monitoring points, and arranged staff to provide convenient services, fully protecting the rights and interests of consumers and exhibitors.
