Southeast Asia Information Port News (www.dnyxxg.com) Recently, Myanmar has continued to advance the resettlement of armed personnel, actively guiding members of relevant armed groups back into the legitimate social system and providing special financial subsidies and support to those who voluntarily return. Yesterday, a total of 376 former armed personnel successfully completed the resettlement process and officially returned to the regular system.

It is understood that the resettled personnel included 338 men and 38 women, all from various towns in Mandalay and Magway regions. The handover ceremony was held in the Yan Aung Myint Hall of the Central Command, and the scene was orderly. All resettled personnel signed a pledge to abide by the law, voluntarily surrendered their weapons and equipment to military commanders, and were subsequently handed over to their parents and guardians by on-site staff.

The ceremony resulted in the seizure of a batch of various weapons, ammunition, and military supplies, including: 8 MA-1 rifles, 2 MA-2 rifles, 8 MA-3 rifles, 2 M-22 rifles, 1 AK-47 rifle, 1 MA-11 rifle, 2 Type 81 rifles, 2 pistols, 12 homemade firearms, 39 magazines, 790 rounds of ammunition, 5 hand grenades, 3 walkie-talkies, and 1 pair of binoculars.

To encourage armed personnel to voluntarily return and surrender their weapons, the local Chief Minister allocated a special fund of 166.4 million kina for assistance and rewards. Of this, 120 million kina was allocated for 24 rifles, 4 million kina for 2 pistols, 6 million kina for 12 homemade firearms, 1.5 million kina for 5 hand grenades, 600,000 kina for 3 walkie-talkies, and 200,000 kina for 1 pair of binoculars. Meanwhile, a special subsidy of 100,000 kina was distributed to each of the 314 unarmed returnees, totaling 31.4 million kina.

Currently, several armed personnel still intend to return to lawful society. Officials stated that they warmly welcome those still observing the situation to voluntarily surrender. Those interested can register at the nearest Myanmar Armed Forces base or police station. All those who voluntarily return will be accepted according to law, receive official assistance, and can apply for cash rewards based on the weapons and ammunition they surrender.
