  Southeast Asia Information Port News (www.dnyxxg.com) – The opening ceremony of the fifth Lao-Thai Friendship Bridge (Bolikhamxay-Bungkan Bridge) is scheduled for December 25, 2025. Lao People's Democratic Republic President Thongloun Sisoulith and his wife will jointly preside over the ceremony with His Majesty King Maha Vajiralongkorn and His Majesty Queen Mother of Thailand. More than 500 guests, including prime ministers and ministers from both countries, have been invited to attend.

  As a key project of cooperation between the Lao and Thai governments, the construction of the fifth Lao-Thai Friendship Bridge aims to respond to the shared aspirations of the people of both countries, especially meeting the travel needs of the people of Bolikhamxay Province in Laos and Buengkan Province in Thailand. After its completion, the bridge will significantly promote people-to-people exchanges between the two countries, strengthen connectivity along the East-West Economic Corridor, and make transportation, trade, and tourism between the two countries more convenient and efficient, bringing tangible benefits to the people of both nations.

  The bridge opening ceremony was of extraordinary significance, symbolizing the long-standing good neighborliness and deep cooperation between Laos and Thailand, and demonstrating their strategic partnership committed to sustainable development. Furthermore, the bridge's opening coincides with the 75th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between Laos and Thailand, adding a significant chapter to this important historical milestone.
