Vietnam's Son La province exports red dragon fruit to the Italian market

  Southeast Asia Information Port (www.dnyxxg.com) -- Thuan Chau District, Son La Province, Vietnam, boasts a large area of ​​red-fleshed dragon fruit cultivation, with an average yield of 10 to 15 tons per hectare. Relevant county agencies and communal People's Committees are diligently guiding residents and cooperatives to care for dragon fruit according to market requirements and adopt organic production practices to improve quality.

  On June 21, Thuan Chau District, Son La Province, held a ceremony to export the first batch of red-fleshed dragon fruit to the Italian market.

  Five tons of red-fleshed dragon fruit from the Qiong Thuan Agricultural Cooperative in Jing Pha Commune, Thuan Chau County, and 27 households in Jing Pha and Phong Lai Communes were exported to Italy through legitimate trade channels via the Ngoc Huang Agricultural Cooperative in Mai Son District, Son La Province, and Hanoi Organic Food Co., Ltd.

  Currently, Thuan Chau County has 50 hectares of red-fleshed dragon fruit cultivation, 44 of which are produced through a chain operation, primarily in the communes of Jing Pha, Phong Lai, Phong Ling, and Muong Ai.

  By 2024, dragon fruit production is projected to exceed 500 tons, with an average selling price of VND 30,000 to 35,000 per kilogram.

  Thuan Chau District boasts a large area of ​​red dragon fruit cultivation in Son La Province, with an average yield of 10 to 15 tons per hectare. Relevant district agencies and communal People's Committees are diligently guiding residents and cooperatives to care for dragon fruit according to market requirements, adopting organic production practices to improve quality.

  The dragon fruit exported to Italy represents the first harvest of the year.

  Previously, a ceremony was held in Phong Lai Commune, Thuan Chau District, to harvest and export 10 tons of red dragon fruit to the Russian market.

  The successful export of red dragon fruit to the European market through legitimate trade channels will help stabilize product output, increase product value, and point the way for the sustainable development of this crop, striving to achieve the district's target of VND 325 billion in exports by 2024.

  According to the plan, Thuan Chau District in Son La Province aims to export 60 tons of red dragon fruit this year to markets including the United Kingdom, France, Russia, Italy, some Middle Eastern countries, and EU countries through official trade channels, in addition to supplying the domestic market.
