
Southeast Asia Information Port (www.dnyxxg.com) – Myanmar has prioritized combating telecom fraud and online gambling as a national priority, actively coordinating domestic law enforcement efforts and collaborating with neighboring countries to prevent such illegal activities from taking root within its borders.
Recently, the Shan State (Northern) Security Forces conducted raids in three areas of Muse Township: Kaunghmuton, Tawywet, and Swansaw. These areas had previously been reported for online fraud and gambling activities.
During a search of a residence in Kaunghmuton Township, law enforcement officers arrested 85 Chinese men suspected of engaging in telecom fraud and online gambling. They seized 286 mobile phones, 30 desktop computers, and 28 laptops, and impounded one house involved in the case. In a residential house in Tawiwet district, 46 mobile phones and 18 computers used for illegal activities were seized; in a similar residential house in Swamsaw district, 85 mobile phones and 10 computers were seized.
Furthermore, during a special security operation near Kangsan village in Laykha township, Shan State (southern part), security forces discovered multiple buildings and a large quantity of equipment used in illegal activities approximately 3,000 meters west of the village. These include two buildings measuring 130 feet long and 50 feet wide, three residential buildings measuring 90 feet long and 30 feet wide, three residential buildings measuring 60 feet long and 30 feet wide, one warehouse measuring 150 feet long and 50 feet wide, and one building measuring 180 feet long and 60 feet wide. Also seized are 10 Starlink devices, 55 all-in-one computers, 10 power stations, and other related equipment used in the crimes.
Currently, all seized items and equipment have been disposed of according to legal procedures. The identities of those involved are being fully verified, and they will be held legally responsible. (End)
