Cambodia and Indonesia meet to deepen law enforcement cooperation and jointly combat online fraud.

  Southeast Asia Information Port News (www.dnyxxg.com) – On the afternoon of January 19th, Cambodian Minister of State and Secretary-General of the National Committee Against Cyber ​​Fraud, Chhay Sinharith, met with Indonesian Ambassador to Cambodia, Sando Damosumato, who was terminating his term. The two sides conducted in-depth exchanges and reached consensus on core issues such as strengthening law enforcement cooperation between the two countries and jointly combating cyber fraud.

  Chhay Sinharith highly praised Ambassador Damosumato's contributions to promoting Cambodia-Indonesia bilateral relations during his tenure, as well as the close cooperation of the Indonesian Embassy in Cambodia in related work. He emphasized that the Cambodian government has a firm stance on combating cybercrime and has introduced a series of strong measures to severely punish criminal ringleaders through strict legal procedures and to eradicate high-tech fraud networks operating within the country. Chhay Sinharith stated that Cambodia will continue to deepen cooperation with Indonesia in the future, focusing on strengthening cooperation at the intelligence sharing and joint law enforcement levels.

  Ambassador Damosumato fully affirmed the Cambodian government and relevant departments' firm resolve and solid efforts in cracking down on fraud dens and dismantling criminal gangs. He sincerely thanked Cambodia for its comprehensive support in rescuing stranded Indonesian citizens and coordinating repatriation procedures, and pledged: "Although my term is coming to an end, the Indonesian Embassy in Cambodia will continue to advance cooperation with Cambodia, working together to address the regional challenge of online fraud and effectively resolve related problems."

  During the meeting, both sides also exchanged in-depth views on future cooperation directions and reached a consensus: to further optimize communication and collaboration mechanisms, focusing on accelerating the verification of Indonesian victims' identities and the efficiency of repatriation, ensuring the efficient and orderly progress of all aspects of crime fighting and personnel rescue.
