  Southeast Asia Information Port (www.dnyxxg.com) – According to Myanmar police, authorities have busted a major drug trafficking operation in Wa Township, Bago Region, seizing 1.51 tons of methamphetamine and 6.15 million stimulant tablets, with an estimated street value of approximately 62.075 billion kyats.

  The operation took place at approximately 3:30 PM on June 9th near Nyaung Kasai village in Wa Township. A joint enforcement team intercepted a 22-wheel FAN truck during a patrol, arresting the driver, Sai Maung Maung, and his accomplice, Myo Nhor Aung.

  Preliminary investigations indicate that the drugs originated in Pyinmana and were destined for Hpa-an, where they were intended for distribution.

  Further investigations revealed that the two suspects were employed by Aung Tse Ya Phyo (also known as Kyaw Thu La), Thu La, and Kyi Tgaung (all residents of Taungwoo Township, currently at large) to transport the drugs.

  Police stated that they have taken legal measures against the detained individuals in accordance with current laws and are making every effort to track down other members of the drug trafficking network, striving to dismantle the entire chain. (End)
