Southeast Asia Information Port (www.dnyxxg.com) – On June 21st, Central Retail held the opening ceremony of its "Vietnamese Lychee Promotion Event" at Centralworld Shopping Center in Bangkok, Thailand. This year marks the seventh year that Central Retail has held this lychee promotion event in Thailand, enhancing the appeal of Vietnamese fruit to Thai consumers.
At the event, Central Retail introduced Thai consumers to fresh, peak-season lychees from Vietnam, complete with GlobalGAP certification, geographical indication seals, and labels.
Vietnamese Ambassador to Thailand Pham Viet Hung, Vietnamese Commercial Counselor in Thailand Le Huu Phuc, and Central Retail leaders attended the event, which was also attended by many Thai consumers.
Vietnamese Ambassador to Thailand Pham Viet Hung, in his speech at the event, expressed his pleasure at the introduction and promotion of high-quality Vietnamese lychees and expressed his confidence that the quality of Vietnamese products meets the needs of Thai consumers. Ambassador Pham Viet Hung stated that this lychee promotion event demonstrates the efforts of Central Retail and various Vietnamese organizations to promote Vietnamese products in the Thai market, contributing to increasing Vietnamese exports to Thailand.

Ambassador Pham Viet Hung emphasized that Vietnam and Thailand are each other's major trading partners and believes it is crucial to facilitate Vietnamese exports to Thailand. The goal is to reach US$25 billion in bilateral trade by 2025, as agreed by the leaders of the two countries.
Mr. Paul Le, Vice President of Central Retail Vietnam, commented that thanks to increasingly sophisticated cold storage management and packaging, Vietnamese lychees will soon be exported to many countries around the world. Central Retail has been particularly successful in exporting fresh lychees to Thailand since 2017.
Le Huu Phuc, Commercial Counselor of Vietnam in Thailand, told reporters from the People's Daily in Thailand that Vietnamese lychee production has decreased this year, and input prices are higher than in previous years. Therefore, the Vietnamese Commercial Office in Thailand highly appreciates Central Retail's efforts to promote Vietnamese lychees in Thailand and to help Thai customers become more familiar with Vietnamese fruits.
In addition to lychees, the Vietnamese Commercial Office in Thailand will work with relevant departments to introduce more Vietnamese fruits to Thailand, including avocados, rambutans, and passion fruit. (End)
