Landslide in West Java, Indonesia, has killed 80 people.

  Southeast Asia Information Port (www.dnyxxg.com) – As of January 2nd, the latest statistics on the landslide disaster in West Bandung Regency, West Java Province, Indonesia, have resulted in 80 deaths.

  The West Bandung Regency government announced that the joint search and rescue team had handed over the bodies of 80 victims to the disaster victim identification team, and the search and rescue operation is still ongoing.

  The Indonesian National Disaster Management Agency stated that the identities of 57 of the victims have been confirmed and they have been handed over to their families. Search and rescue personnel are continuing search and cleanup operations in the landslide area.

  At approximately 3:00 AM local time on January 24th, a landslide occurred in Cisalua Regency, West Bandung Regency, West Java Province, damaging dozens of houses and burying people. A joint search and rescue team composed of the Indonesian military, police, local disaster mitigation agencies, and the National Search and Rescue Agency subsequently launched search and recovery operations.

  Indonesia's National Disaster Management Agency stated that, as of now, 517 affected residents have returned home, while 159 remain in resettlement areas. (End)
