India's Adani Group plans to invest $2 billion in Lien Nam Port in Vietnam.

  Southeast Asia Information Port News (www.dnyxxg.com) – During Vietnamese Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh's visit to India, Minister of Planning and Investment Nguyen Chi Dung, who accompanied him, met with Gautam Adani, Chairman of the Adani Group, one of India's leading companies, on August 1st.

  Gautam Adani, Chairman of the Adani Group, stated that the group intends to invest US$2 billion in Liên Chiểu Port in Da Nang City, aiming to improve the logistics ecosystem of Da Nang and the central region.

  According to Vietnam's plans, Liên Chiểu Port is a first-class deep-water port with a strategic geographical location, serving as a connecting point in the international East-West economic corridor and a gateway to the central region.

  After its commissioning, the port will have a combined terminal throughput of 100,000 tons and a container port throughput of 200,000 tons. By 2045, the port's annual throughput is projected to reach 100 million tons. Vietnam will invest approximately VND 3 trillion in shared infrastructure and calls for simultaneous investment in the port.

  In addition, the Adani Group plans to invest US$2.8 billion in the Vinh Tan III hotspot project in Binh Thuan province and intends to participate in the construction of Long Thanh Airport Phase II in Dong Nai province and Chu Lai Airport in Quang Nam province.

  The Prime Minister of Vietnam instructed Minister of Planning and Investment Nguyen Chi Dung to directly negotiate with the Adani Group with relevant agencies and localities to thoroughly resolve related issues and carry out relevant work in accordance with regulations.

  To implement the Prime Minister's instructions, Nguyen Chi Dung took this opportunity to meet with the leaders of the Adani Group. Representatives from the Ministry of Transport, the Da Nang City People's Committee, and relevant units were present.

  At the meeting, Nguyen Chi Dung listened to the problems faced by the Adani Group in carrying out projects in Vietnam and requested all parties to immediately implement several points so that investments in the Lien Chieu Port project and other projects could be deployed as soon as possible.
