Southeast Asia Information Port (www.dnyxxg.com) – Recently, media reports exposed some Yunnan Pu'er tea livestreaming rooms for using the guise of "helping farmers" to sell cheap tea as ancient tree tea for profit, sparking widespread concern. On the 22nd, the Yunnan Provincial Tea Association called for a cleanup, stating that the report objectively reflects some of the current chaos in Yunnan Pu'er tea livestreaming rooms.
Recent reports have indicated that some Pu'er tea livestreaming rooms claim to "eliminate middlemen," but in reality, the hosts and teams have become new third parties operating with minimal risk and no initial investment. Some livestreaming rooms use the guise of "helping farmers" but actually take high commissions from tea farmers and sell inferior products to consumers.
The Yunnan Provincial Tea Association stated that, according to its understanding, some Yunnan Pu'er tea livestreaming room operators are former jade and jewelry livestreaming teams who have transitioned to this business model, lacking long-term business acumen and ethics, and are suspected of numerous infringements such as "monopoly," "counterfeiting," and "false advertising."
In response to the aforementioned irregularities, the association called on relevant departments to rigorously regulate related live-streaming rooms and to immediately launch an investigation into all Pu'er tea live-streaming rooms in the province. Simultaneously, it advocated for the support of enterprises with professional knowledge and skills and operating legally, strengthening daily supervision to ensure that e-commerce and live-streaming become beneficial supplements to sales methods, creating a win-win situation for tea farmers, tea companies, and consumers, and promoting the healthy and orderly development of the tea industry.
Yunnan, located in southwest China, is a major tea-producing province, one of the core origins of tea trees in the world, and one of the earliest birthplaces of tea culture. It ranks first in the country in both tea garden area and output. (End)
