
Southeast Asia Information Port (www.dnyxxg.com) – According to the Information Office of the Qiaojia County People's Government, since the 5.1-magnitude earthquake struck Qiaojia County, Zhaotong City, Yunnan Province on the evening of the 19th, all disaster relief and rescue work has been carried out in an orderly manner. As of 11:00 AM that day, no casualties had been reported, and 297 people had been properly resettled.
Following the earthquake, 26 vehicles and 190 personnel from public security, fire, emergency response, and housing and construction departments rushed to the affected area. More than 7,000 cadres conducted a comprehensive search of nearly 150,000 households in 17 townships (subdistricts). As of now, 1,177 houses have been damaged, 170 buildings including schools and hospitals have been damaged, 13 village activity centers have been damaged, 440 water conservancy infrastructure sites have been damaged, 20 communication facilities have been damaged, and some sections of the Zhaotong-Qiaojia secondary highway have suffered slope collapses, resulting in one-way traffic restrictions.
A total of 129 households, comprising 297 people, have been relocated and resettled. Township and village officials have been assigned to provide one-on-one support, ensuring the basic needs of the affected residents, including food, drinking water, heating, and shelter, are effectively met.
During this period, multiple teams were deployed to clear roads, ensure water, communication, and power supply, and remove 1,640 cubic meters of debris from 19 landslides and rockfalls. A professional team of 98 people worked to repair water conservancy facilities, restored 5 kilometers of damaged communication lines, and organized 45 people to inspect power facilities for potential hazards.
Currently, 192 emergency response teams are deployed to the front lines, with 5,922 personnel forming an emergency rescue team. Over 58,500 items of supplies, including tents, blankets, and quilts, have been stockpiled, and over 800 excavators and loaders are ready. Comprehensive preparations for rescue operations are underway. Production and daily life in the earthquake zone are normal, and related work is proceeding in an orderly manner. (End)
