Southeast Asia Information Port News (www.dnyxxg.com) – On the 11th, a promotion conference for the high-quality development of "Living and Traveling in Yunnan" was held in Mile City, Honghe Prefecture, Yunnan Province. The "Special Development Plan for 'Living and Traveling in Yunnan' (2025-2030)" (hereinafter referred to as the "Plan"), which was pre-released at the conference, proposes to build Yunnan into a national pioneer zone for living and traveling, constructing a "two-axis, three-belt, six-zone" all-area living and traveling development pattern.

In recent years, the brand influence of "Living and Traveling in Yunnan" has continued to rise. In 2024, the number of people living and traveling in the province reached 3.898 million, and from January to September 2025, it reached 3.9347 million, a year-on-year increase of 51.5%.

The "Plan," pre-released that day, focuses on the development direction of "professionalization, standardization, scale, marketization, and branding," constructing a complete system of "overall guidance—spatial layout—implementation path—safety guarantee—landing support." The "Plan" proposes to build Yunnan into a national pioneer zone for living and traveling, a model zone for rural revitalization, an innovation and entrepreneurship cluster, and a demonstration zone for promoting exchanges and integration among all ethnic groups. In terms of spatial layout, the plan proposes to construct a comprehensive tourism and residential development pattern of "two axes, three belts, and six zones": The "two axes" rely on major transportation arteries such as the China-Laos Railway, the Chongqing-Kunming High-Speed Railway, and the Shanghai-Kunming High-Speed Railway to create tourism and residential corridors that complement each other in the north and south and connect the east and west; the "three belts" are the Jinsha River summer and winter resort tourism and residential belt, the Lancang River ecological tourism and residential belt, and the border cross-border tourism and residential belt; the "six zones" focus on the central, southwestern, and northwestern regions of Yunnan to achieve differentiated and distinctive development.

As another highlight of this conference, the first batch of 26 high-quality development pilot projects for "Tourism and Residence in Yunnan" were officially released. These pilot projects cover 16 prefectures and cities across the province, focusing on nine key areas including increasing farmers' income, promoting employment and entrepreneurship, driving industrial integration, and implementing cultural empowerment. The aim is to explore and form replicable and scalable tourism and residential development models through exemplary guidance.

For example, pilot projects such as Leju Village in Xishan District of Kunming City and Laozhaoqing Village in Simao District of Pu'er City have effectively revitalized idle houses and broadened farmers' income channels through a benefit-sharing mechanism of "village collective + enterprise + farmer"; Mafang Village in Chengjiang County of Yuxi City and Wanyao Village in Jianshui County of Honghe Prefecture have built entrepreneurial platforms to promote the transformation from "travel residence" to "travel creation"; and Shaonvping in Shuifu County of Zhaotong City and Ginkgo Village in Tengchong County of Baoshan City have relied on natural resources to promote the integration of multiple business formats such as "travel residence + health care" and "travel residence + study tour".

During the conference, a "Travel Residence in Yunnan - Hotel Investment Promotion Conference" and an "Immersive Cultural Tourism Experience Investment Promotion Conference" were held concurrently. Representatives from cultural and tourism bureaus and enterprises from various cities and prefectures conducted project presentations and free negotiations, promoting precise matching of resources from government, enterprises, capital, and platforms.

The promotional event, themed "Living in Yunnan: Enjoying Life and Drawing a New Blueprint for Development," was jointly hosted by the China Tourism Association and the Yunnan Provincial Department of Culture and Tourism. It systematically showcased the latest achievements and development plans of Yunnan's tourism industry. (End)
