Indonesia calls for global cooperation to restore water resources

  Southeast Asia Information Port News (www.dnyxxg.com) – Representatives from Indonesia attended the Third High-Level International Conference on the International Decade of Action for Water for Sustainable Development 2018-2028, held in Dushanbe, Tajikistan, from June 10th to 13th, and delivered a speech emphasizing the importance of strengthening international cooperation to achieve global water resource restoration goals.

  According to a report by the Vietnam News Agency correspondent in Jakarta, Indonesian Minister of Public Works and Housing (PUPR), Mr. Basuki Hadimuljono, stressed that comprehensive cooperation is crucial to turning water into a tool for achieving shared prosperity. This cooperation is the "key" to protecting water resources and achieving shared prosperity in the future.

  Minister Basuki Hadimuljono believes that countries need to achieve the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) through cooperative projects to achieve equitable access to clean water and safe sanitation facilities by 2030.

  Indonesian Minister of Public Works and Housing, Mr. Basuki Hadimuzono, emphasized that access to clean water and adequate sanitation is a fundamental human right, and everyone on Earth must have equal access to these resources. Mr. Hadimuzono encouraged delegates participating in this international conference to work together to implement concrete and transformative actions to realize global water resource recovery capabilities, while adhering to the principles of sustainability, equity, and social justice.

  Mr. Hadimuzono noted that the Third High-Level International Conference on Water for Sustainable Development 2018-2028 is a multilateral forum for creating opportunities to exchange experiences and promote strengthened global cooperation. (End)
