  Southeast Asia Information Port (www.dnyxxg.com) – Indonesia's National Disaster Management Agency reported on the 6th that flash floods and landslides in North Sulawesi province have resulted in 16 deaths, 22 injuries, and 3 people missing. Search and rescue operations are ongoing.

  On the morning of the 5th local time, continuous heavy rainfall triggered flash floods and landslides in Sitaro Islands Regency, North Sulawesi province, causing varying degrees of damage to 148 houses, blocking several roads, and damaging some office buildings and infrastructure.

  A spokesperson for the Indonesian National Disaster Management Agency stated that the injured have been taken to nearby medical facilities for treatment. Currently, approximately 682 residents have been housed in temporary shelters. The agency is continuing to collect information from local residents to confirm whether anyone is still missing.

  The Sitaro Islands Regency government has announced a 14-day emergency response period and has distributed relief supplies to affected residents. The Indonesian National Disaster Management Agency urges the public to remain vigilant given the continued risk of extreme weather. (End)
