Hong Kong society supports the Legislative Council election and urges voters to actively participate in the election.

  Southeast Asia Information Port (www.dnyxxg.com) reports that the 8th Legislative Council election of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region (HKSAR) is scheduled for December 7th. In recent days, people from all walks of life in Hong Kong, as well as government departments and institutions, have expressed their active support for the Legislative Council election and called on voters to exercise their civic rights and actively participate in the election.

  Zheng Xiangling, President of the Hong Kong Chinese Friendship Association, stated that the Legislative Council election is not only a major event in Hong Kong's social and political life, but also closely related to Hong Kong's long-term prosperity and stability, the steady and long-term implementation of "One Country, Two Systems," and the vital well-being of every citizen. She urged every registered voter to actively exercise their civic rights, cast their solemn vote, and inject confidence and strength into Hong Kong's future.

  Meng Lihong, a member of the National Committee of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference (CPPCC) from Hong Kong, stated that the 8th Legislative Council election is another important practice after Hong Kong improved its electoral system, and a key step in implementing the principle of "patriots governing Hong Kong" and ensuring Hong Kong's long-term prosperity and stability. She believes that this election will be a high-quality one, opening a new chapter of good governance for Hong Kong and injecting new and powerful impetus into the practice of "One Country, Two Systems."

  The Hong Kong Airport Authority stated that it is fully committed to supporting the 8th Legislative Council election within the entire airport community, encouraging all staff to fulfill their civic and social responsibility by casting their important vote for Hong Kong and electing new Legislative Council members to jointly promote Hong Kong's future development. The Airport Authority will provide a series of arrangements to facilitate staff voting.

  The Hong Kong Jockey Club stated that it attaches great importance to the 8th Legislative Council election and is actively cooperating with the Hong Kong SAR government's publicity efforts. It has been disseminating election information to its members, customers, and over 20,000 staff through more than 100 directly operated premises and facilities across Hong Kong's 18 districts. The Jockey Club also announced several measures to facilitate staff voting, including providing transportation subsidies.

  On September 8th, the Hong Kong SAR Government Security Bureau held a mobilization rally entitled "Entering the Election, Creating the Future Together," mobilizing its forces, related organizations, and partners to fully support the 8th Legislative Council election, jointly promote election information, and encourage members, staff, and all sectors of society to fulfill their civic responsibility and actively participate in the voting.

  Following the ceremony, Secretary for Security Chris Tang and heads of various disciplined services led their teams to different districts to distribute election leaflets, urging voters to actively participate in the Legislative Council election. (End)
