Southeast Asia Information Port (www.dnyxxg.com) – On February 13th, the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism of Hung Yen Province, Vietnam, held a press conference to introduce information regarding the 2026 Tran Ancestral Temple Fair.
At the press conference, Do Huu Nhan, Standing Deputy Director of the Organizing Committee of the 2026 Tran Ancestral Temple Fair and Director of the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism of Hung Yen Province, stated that this is one of the major temple fairs in Hung Yen Province. This traditional temple fair aims to commemorate and express gratitude to ancestors and the emperors of the Tran Dynasty, thereby educating the younger generation about the traditional virtue of "remembering one's roots." In 2026, the ceremonial portion will be held according to traditional customs; the festival portion will include 15 activities, the most ever organized.
According to the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism of Hung Yen Province, the 2026 Tran Ancestral Temple Fair will be held on a provincial scale, lasting five days (from March 1st to 5th, i.e., the 13th to 17th of the first lunar month), located in the national-level special relic area—the Tran Dynasty Imperial Tombs and Temples Historical Relic Area in Hung Long Commune, Hung Yen Province.
In addition, the 24th "Vietnam Poetry Day" will be held within the framework of the temple fair; the "Standards and Norms for the Cultural Environment of Traditional Temple Fairs" will be launched and implemented throughout the province; and various sports activities, including tossing embroidered balls, tug-of-war, freestyle wrestling, and ethnic wrestling, will be held.
One of the highlights of the temple fair is the opening ceremony held at 7:00 PM on March 1st (the 13th day of the first lunar month), which will feature an art performance themed "The Heritage of the Tran Dynasty Shines – A Brilliant Welcome to the New Era."
