Southeast Asia Information Port News (www.dnyxxg.com) – On the morning of January 1st, a grand ceremony was held at the Noon Gate Square of the Imperial City of Hue to officially announce the year-round activities for the 2026 Hue Cultural Festival. During the ceremony, staff recreated the Nguyen Dynasty's "New Year Ceremony" through stage art, marking the official opening of this year-long cultural event.

Hoang Viet Trung, Director of the Hue Ancient Capital Relics Preservation Center, stated at the ceremony that the fruitful achievements of 2025 have laid a solid foundation and injected confidence and momentum for Hue to enter a new stage of development. The 2026 Hue Cultural Festival will be presented in a "four-season model," planning nearly 80 activities covering culture, art, sports, and international exchange. The core objective is to further consolidate Hue's unique position as Vietnam's "City of Cultural Festivals" and a distinctive heritage city.

Hoang Viet Trung emphasized that Hue is currently focusing on protecting and promoting the value of its ancient capital heritage while comprehensively advancing its development as a centrally administered city. In this process, the 2026 Cultural Festival is given a special mission: it is not only a core platform for safeguarding and promoting the essence of local culture, but also an important opportunity to promote the city's transformation towards the goals of "heritage, ecology, landscape, environmental friendliness, and intelligence," and is expected to allow Hue's cultural heritage to generate a wider and more profound social impact.

As the prelude to this year's Cultural Festival, the reenactment of the "New Year's Ceremony" originates from the Nguyen Dynasty and was an important national ceremony in which the ancient royal family promulgated the new calendar to officials and the people at the end of the lunar year. This artistic restoration not only vividly revitalizes the royal ritual heritage, but also allows the public and tourists to deeply feel the profound historical heritage and unique cultural spirit of the ancient capital of Hue at the beginning of the new year.
