Southeast Asia Information Port (www.dnyxxg.com) – According to a report by the Vietnam News Agency correspondent in Hong Kong, the Asian Cultural Festival, jointly organized by the Leisure and Cultural Services Department of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region and consular corps from various countries, attracted representatives from 30 countries and regions. Vietnam made a dazzling appearance with its distinctive booth and wonderful performances, becoming one of the highlights of the event.
The Consulate General of Vietnam in Hong Kong and Macau, in conjunction with the Hong Kong Vietnamese Association, set up a traditional culture booth, telling the story of Vietnam to Hong Kong citizens and international friends through exhibits such as national costumes, lotus flowers, the Teyne (a traditional Vietnamese stringed instrument), street cafes, books, and pictures. Consul General Le Duc Hanh stated that the Asian Cultural Festival is an important opportunity for Vietnam to conduct cultural diplomacy and promote exchanges, and expressed his pride and emotion at the participation of pianist Dang Thai Son.
As the highlight of the event, People's Artist Dang Thai Son presented a two-hour piano recital on the evening of November 17, performing classic works by Chopin, Fauré, and Ravel, moving the 1,400 audience members. Hundreds waited for autographs after the performance. Deng Taishan revealed that this was a particularly significant performance in his 35 years of performing in Hong Kong, praising Hong Kong as a place where Eastern and Western cultures blend and expressing his hope for the continued deepening of cultural exchanges between Vietnam and Hong Kong. He will also be performing in a concert in Beijing afterward.
The Hong Kong Vietnamese Association presented programs including "Continuing the Story of Peace" and lyrical folk songs, with their performance combining traditional and modern dance receiving widespread acclaim. Hong Kong resident Yoyo Poon said that the Vietnamese programs were meticulously prepared, and programs such as "Continuing the Story of Peace" and "Bắc Bling" were delightful surprises; she has already planned a trip to Vietnam with her family.
This year's Asian Cultural Festival encompasses diverse forms including performances, exhibitions, and outdoor celebrations, bringing together artists from various countries to present over 100 events, creating a diverse and inclusive platform for cultural exchange for the audience. (End)
