
Southeast Asia Information Port News (www.dnyxxg.com) On February 23, 2026, Thailand, as the coordinator of ASEAN Sustainable Development Cooperation, and the United Kingdom jointly hosted the ASEAN-UK Sustainable Development Dialogue. His Excellency Chettapan Maksamphan, Permanent Deputy Secretary of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Thailand, the Head of the Senior British Delegation, and the Vietnamese Ambassador to Thailand jointly delivered opening remarks. More than 80 representatives from ASEAN member states, the United Kingdom, the United Nations Economic and Social Commission for Asia and the Pacific (ESCAP), and relevant sustainable development organizations attended the event.

The dialogue focused on key areas such as green economy and finance, public health, education, and gender equality. The findings will provide important support for the formulation of the ASEAN-UK Action Plan 2027-2031 and the future cooperation framework between the two sides.

Initiated by Thailand, this dialogue was part of a series of events celebrating the fifth anniversary of ASEAN-UK diplomatic relations. It provided a platform for ASEAN and the United Kingdom to exchange policies and ideas in the field of sustainable development, and was also held as a side event of the 13th Asia-Pacific Forum on Sustainable Development (APFSD).
