Southeast Asia Information Port (www.dnyxxg.com) – Thailand is welcoming 2026 with a nationwide countdown celebration, with the core events being two flagship projects developed by the Tourism Authority of Thailand (TAT) in Phayao and Sungai Kolok provinces. Simultaneously, a series of distinctive activities are being launched in Bangkok and other provinces across the country, showcasing the charm of diverse cultures and solidifying Thailand's position as a leading festival destination in Asia.
TAT Governor Thapane Kitapapur stated that the flagship events in Phayao and Sungai Kolok focus on regional characteristics, combining public-private partnerships in Bangkok and other locations to create a nationwide festive atmosphere, helping Thailand enter 2026 with a warm and culturally rich tourism image.

Two core flagship events will run from December 28th to 31st, 2025: The "Amazing Thailand Phayao New Year's Eve Flower Festival" will be held at Khun Am Square and its surrounding area in Phayao Province, northern Thailand, to pay tribute to Queen Sirikit. The festival will feature a light and flower exhibition, drone performances, a grand fireworks display, and a New Year's Eve gala on the 31st, aiming to help Phayao establish itself as a new international tourist destination. Meanwhile, a New Year's Eve event of the same name will be held at Sirindhorn Park in Sungai Korak District, Narathiwat Province, southern Thailand. This event will showcase the vitality of border culture through light decorations, concerts by renowned artists, and traditional performances. High-ranking representatives from Thailand and Malaysia will attend the official ceremony, highlighting its value as a cross-border cultural and tourism gateway.
Bangkok, as the central celebration location, will host several major events (December 27-31, 2025): ICONSIAM shopping mall will present a 4D eco-friendly fireworks show on the Chao Phraya River, featuring drone effects and performances by international artists including Mark Tuan; One Bangkok and CentralWorld shopping malls will offer performances by Korean stars, a light and sound show, and a classic fireworks concert; Rajamangala National Stadium will host a top-tier DJ electronic music party; and Sukhumvit Road will feature a 5-kilometer interconnected fireworks corridor, linking retail, dining, and entertainment areas to create a unified countdown space.

Simultaneously, various provinces in Thailand will launch their own unique events: Hat Yai in Songkhla province will host a New Year's Eve celebration from December 30-31, incorporating music and cultural performances to boost tourism recovery in the south; the InterContinental Hua Hin Resort will offer a beachfront New Year's Eve experience on the 31st, including DJ performances, family activities, and a fireworks show; and Udon Thani in Udon Thani province will feature entertainment performances, light decorations, a food court, and midnight fireworks on the 31st to boost the year-end tourism economy in the northeast.
It is understood that the nationwide New Year's Eve activities will be concentrated from December 27th to 31st, 2025. A complete list of events can be found in the Thai 2026 countdown calendar. Thailand has already implemented comprehensive security measures, with the Royal Thai Police and Tourist Police working together to ensure a safe and orderly festive experience for tourists through personnel, vehicles, and modern technology.
