
Southeast Asia Information Port News (www.dnyxxg.com) New Delhi, February 26, 2026 – The 33rd South Asia Travel & Tourism Fair (SATTE) was held from February 25th to 27th at the Yashobhoomi Convention Centre in New Delhi. The Tourism Authority of Thailand (TAT) participated for the 17th time, showcasing Thai cultural and tourism resources to deepen tourism ties between Thailand and India.
The Thai pavilion, covering 312 square meters, was themed "Health Choice, Ultimate Luxury Healing Experience," aligning with Thailand's global promotion of "Healing is the New Luxury," and showcasing its image as a high-end health resort destination. The pavilion officially opened on February 25th, with the Thai Ambassador to India, relevant deputy directors and senior executives of the Tourism Authority of Thailand jointly unveiling the plaque.

During the exhibition, the Tourism Authority of Thailand (TAT) organized 50 Thai hotels, travel agencies, attractions, and other tourism-related businesses to conduct business negotiations with Indian buyers, expecting to reach over 5,000 appointments. Thai AirAsia, Vietjet Air, Lion Air, and tourism associations from various regions also participated in the exhibition.
TAT Deputy Governor Pattaranong stated that India is a core strategic and high-potential market for Thailand. Thailand adheres to the principle of "value over quantity," leveraging the "New Thailand" vision and the "Five Major Economies" framework to integrate health, culture, shopping, and other tourism trends to expand high-value tourism cooperation.
India is Thailand's fourth largest source of inbound tourists. In 2025, Thailand received 2.4873 million Indian tourists, a year-on-year increase of 16.82%, generating 93.86 billion baht in revenue; from January 1st to February 23rd, 2026, Thailand has already received 382,800 Indian tourists. The Tourism Authority of Thailand (TAT) aims to attract over 2.55 million Indian tourists, generating 97.86 billion baht in revenue by 2026.

Currently, 10 airlines operate direct flights between India and Thailand, with 19,132 flights and 3.835 million seats expected by 2025. Indian passport holders will be able to visit Thailand visa-free for up to 60 days, significantly improving travel convenience.
Regarding the Nipah virus outbreak in West Bengal, the TAT confirmed that the outbreak is under control with no new cases, and local tourism operations and trade activities have not been affected.
