Thailand to host 2026 Chinese New Year themed events

  Southeast Asia Information Port News (www.dnyxxg.com) On February 10, 2026, the Royal Thai Government, led by Prime Minister Anutin Chanwirakul, solemnly held the "2026 Wonderful Thai-Chinese New Year" promotional event at the Prime Minister's Office to commemorate the 51st anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between Thailand and the People's Republic of China, deepen the friendship between China and Thailand, and boost the tourism market recovery.

  Chinese Ambassador to Thailand Zhang Jianwei, Thai Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Transport Phiphat Ratchakitprakarn, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Agriculture and Cooperatives Captain Thamana Promppao, Director of the Tourism Authority of Thailand Thapane Kiapappur, and senior representatives from relevant government agencies attended the event, demonstrating the coordinated support of various departments for this Lunar New Year celebration.

  To welcome the Chinese New Year, the Tourism Authority of Thailand meticulously planned a series of festive activities, with Bangkok and Hat Yai as the core flagship destinations, and simultaneous celebrations in multiple locations: Bangkok area: Two core events were staged in turn. Firstly, from February 7th to March 1st, from 6:00 PM to 11:00 PM daily, Yaowarat Road (from Odian Roundabout to Chalongpuri Road intersection) will feature a continuous festive light show, creating a strong Chinese New Year atmosphere. Secondly, from February 14th to 18th, from 4:00 PM to 10:00 PM daily, Siam Paragon will host the main celebration, showcasing the unique characteristics of the Chinese New Year. In Hat Yai, Songkhla Province: From February 17th to 20th, the "2026 Thai Lunar New Year Celebration" will commence on Sanehhanusong Road, further solidifying Hat Yai's position as a major tourist center in southern Thailand. Regional Collaboration Activities: The Tourism Authority of Thailand (TAT) is simultaneously supporting various regional Lunar New Year events, including the "Chao Pho – Chao Mae Pak Nam Pho Parade" in Nakhon Sawan Province from February 10th to 21st, and the "Suphan Buri Chinese New Year Celebration: The 18th Anniversary of the Heavenly Dragon" held at the Dragon Descendants Museum in Suphan Buri Province from February 17th to 18th.

  This series of Thai-Chinese New Year events in 2026 is jointly supported by the government and the private sector. Partners such as Siam Paragon, ICONSIAM, centralworld, shopping malls under the Central Group, and The Mall Group are working together to help the events reach across the country, continuously attracting tourists and stimulating tourism spending.
