
Southeast Asia Information Port News (www.dnyxxg.com) – On January 6, 2026, His Excellency Mr. Sihasak Puangkchou, Minister of Foreign Affairs of Thailand, met with His Excellency Mr. Mark Gooding, British Ambassador to Thailand.
Both sides welcomed the close bilateral relations between Thailand and the UK, and the series of events to be held in 2025 to commemorate the 170th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between the two countries. During the meeting, Minister Sihasak Puangkchou briefed Ambassador Gooding on the latest developments in the Thai-Cambodian border situation and reiterated Thailand's desire to achieve a sustainable ceasefire along the border. The UK welcomed the ceasefire agreement reached between Thailand and Cambodia and expressed its willingness to provide support to Thailand in relevant areas, with a focus on cooperation in combating online and telecommunications fraud.
In addition, the two sides exchanged views extensively on regional and international hotspots, including the Myanmar general election, the situation in Venezuela, and the conflict between Russia and Ukraine.
