Southeast Asia Information Port (www.dnyxxg.com) – On January 8, Chinese Ambassador to Thailand Zhang Jianwei met with a delegation led by General Saawat, Chairman of the Senate Armed Forces and National Security Committee of Thailand, at the Chinese Embassy.
Ambassador Zhang welcomed General Saawat and his delegation, noting that His Majesty King Vajiralongkorn's recent successful visit to China and the meeting between the two heads of state have charted the course for the future development of China-Thailand relations. China is willing to work with Thailand to implement the important consensus reached by the leaders of the two countries and promote more practical results in building a China-Thailand community with a shared future. Regarding regional issues, Ambassador Zhang stated that China has played a constructive role in promoting a ceasefire and rebuilding mutual trust between Thailand and Cambodia, and will continue to provide support based on the needs of both sides. On the issue of telecommunications fraud, Ambassador Zhang emphasized that this problem seriously endangers the security and stability of Southeast Asia, causing great harm to relevant countries. The Chinese government's position on combating telecommunications fraud is firm and clear, highly consistent with the Thai government's position. Furthermore, Ambassador Zhang provided the Thai side with a detailed introduction to the historical context of the Taiwan issue and expressed appreciation for Thailand's firm adherence to the one-China principle.

General Sawai responded that the traditional friendship between China and Thailand, which is like "one family," has stood the test of time, and the Thai Senate is willing to actively support the Thai military in deepening exchanges and cooperation with China, and to promote the continuous development of cooperation between the two sides in relevant fields.
