Southeast Asia Information Port (www.dnyxxg.com) – “As of today, the Zhejiang Chamber of Commerce in Thailand has raised over 3.4 million baht worth of disaster relief supplies and 800,000 baht in donations, all of which have been promptly delivered to the disaster area,” Wang Haijun, president of the Zhejiang Chamber of Commerce in Thailand, told reporters on the 4th, revealing the progress of the Chamber’s “Emergency Relief Operation for Southern Thailand Floods.”

Since mid-November, southern Thailand has experienced severe flooding, particularly Songkhla Province, which suffered a once-in-300-year flood, causing significant casualties and property damage. Following the disaster, overseas Chinese communities and Chinese-funded institutions in Thailand have extended a helping hand, donating money and supplies to the disaster area and participating in relief efforts.

Starting November 27th, the Zhejiang Chamber of Commerce in Thailand officially launched the “Emergency Relief Plan for Southern Thailand Floods,” raising funds from enthusiastic Zhejiang businesspeople in Thailand. All funds raised will be used to purchase emergency relief supplies, which will be directly delivered to the disaster area and distributed to affected people by a special relief team organized by the Chamber. As of December 4th, the Zhejiang Chamber of Commerce in Thailand had raised over 3.4 million Thai baht worth of disaster relief supplies and 800,000 Thai baht in donations, all of which were promptly delivered to the disaster area.

Chen Xianjin, Executive Vice President and Director of the Charity Committee of the Zhejiang Chamber of Commerce in Thailand, who spearheaded this relief effort, stated that every donation represents the collective love and care of Zhejiang businesspeople and enterprises in Thailand, and vividly embodies the Chamber's spirit of "Business Across the World, Charity Across the World."

Wang Haijun, President of the Zhejiang Chamber of Commerce in Thailand, said that the floods in southern Thailand have touched the hearts of every Zhejiang businessperson in Thailand. We will continue to monitor and promote the relief efforts, delivering the most urgently needed supplies to those in need as quickly as possible, so that the people in the disaster area can feel the most genuine care and warmth from China and Zhejiang.

Currently, the "Emergency Relief Campaign for the Southern Thailand Floods" is still ongoing. (End)
