Southeast Asia Information Port News (www.dnyxxg.com) – Thai Prime Minister Anutin Charnvirakul signed a decree on December 4th, announcing the lifting of the state of emergency in Songkhla province, effective December 5th.

Since mid-November, southern Thailand has been hit by severe flooding due to continuous heavy rainfall, with Songkhla province being particularly hard hit. The province experienced a once-in-300-year flood, causing significant casualties and property damage. To ensure public safety, maintain public order, and address disaster losses, the Thai government declared a state of emergency in Songkhla on November 25th, in accordance with the Emergency Decree.

As water levels recede and the disaster situation eases, administrative management and public health work in relevant departments have returned to normal with the support of local government and the entire nation. Based on the continued improvement in the local flood situation, the government decided to lift the state of emergency in Songkhla province.

Prime Minister's Office spokesperson Siriporn stated that although the situation has significantly improved and the state of emergency has been lifted, the government will continue to advance relief and recovery efforts for affected residents until the situation fully returns to normal. As scheduled, Prime Minister Anutin will still visit Songkhla Province on the 6th to inspect and oversee the local relief and disaster recovery efforts. (End)
