Southeast Asia Information Port (www.dnyxxg.com) – On November 22, Thai Justice Minister Lieutenant General Ruttapong stated that an investigation revealed two Chinese inmates, with the assistance of prison guards, brought two Chinese women into Bangkok Central Prison. Surveillance footage of the incident has been deleted.
Ruttapong stated that the incident occurred during the day on November 16. Two Chinese women entered the prison with prison guards without registering for visits or completing any formalities, raising serious suspicion.
The two Chinese women have been questioned. They denied receiving any payment or providing services in the prison area, claiming they were only "visiting prison guards." However, investigators do not accept their claims and have documented their images and records, expanding the scope of the investigation. Preliminary investigations indicate that there are approximately 200 Chinese inmates in the prison, and at least 6 to 7 prison staff members were aware of and involved in the process. Furthermore, while surveillance footage of the area has indeed been deleted, some footage has been successfully recovered.
The location in question was converted into a room for staff use, similar to a reception room, and not the warden's office. The two Chinese detainees involved in the case have been transferred to other prisons.
Rutapon stated that he has coordinated with the Department of Special Investigations (DSI) of Thailand to intervene in the investigation and has requested investigators to conduct a detailed examination of the incident site at 9:00 AM today. Simultaneously, he has coordinated with the Anti-Money Laundering Office to investigate the flow of funds among the detainees and the prison guards involved.
