Southeast Asia Information Port News (www.dnyxxg.com) – From December 5th to 7th, the 12th National College Student Model CPPCC Proposal Competition, founded by the China Foreign Affairs University, was held in Beijing.
This year's competition was jointly organized by the China Foreign Affairs University and the Beijing Municipal People's Political Consultative Conference Theory and Practice Research Association, with guidance from the Beijing Municipal Education Commission and the National Committee of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference Youth League Committee. It was undertaken by the Youth League Committee and the Model CPPCC Association of the China Foreign Affairs University, with support from the Beijing Academy of Educational Sciences and the Beijing Youth Innovation Academy. The competition included university and secondary school groups, attracting over 400 participants from nearly 100 universities and secondary schools nationwide.
At the opening ceremony, Wang Shiting, Secretary of the Party Committee of the China Foreign Affairs University, stated that the competition adheres to the original intention of "understanding China, suggesting solutions to China, and serving China," creating a practical platform for "large-scale ideological and political education." He hoped that all young students would always keep the "greater national interest" in mind and integrate their personal ideals into the overall development of the country.
At the closing ceremony, Gao Fei, President of the China Foreign Affairs University, pointed out that the simulated CPPCC proposal activity is an effective platform for students to deepen their understanding of national conditions and the Chinese system. By writing proposals, young students ground their theoretical learning in practical experience, laying a foundation for telling China's story well on the world stage.
Zhang Jiaming, Deputy Secretary of the Party Group and Vice Chairman of the Beijing Municipal CPPCC, delivered a concluding speech, stating that carrying out the "simulated CPPCC" practice and promoting a deeper understanding of the CPPCC—a uniquely Chinese institutional arrangement—among other things is an important exploration in promoting the implementation of the new era's moral education project. It has significant meaning and far-reaching impact on cultivating firm believers and active practitioners of socialist democratic politics.
In this competition, the organizing committee incorporated field research activities for the first time, leading participating teachers and students to visit rural revitalization demonstration villages and the Future Science City. A simulated consultation forum was also added for the middle school group, allowing young people to deeply appreciate the charm of consultative democracy.
It is understood that since its inception in 2013 by the China Foreign Affairs University, the "Proposal China: National College Student Simulated CPPCC Proposal Competition" has seen many simulated proposals transformed into practical results through CPPCC members and submitted to the National CPPCC and local provincial and municipal CPPCCs, truly achieving a leap from "simulation" to "practice."
