Southeast Asia Information Port News (www.dnyxxg.com) – The "MicroNeuro" neurosurgical robot system, the "Upwelling Ocean Ranch" model, and key technologies for next-generation artificial blood… The Chinese Academy of Sciences (CAS) showcased 123 major achievements from 33 institutions at the 2025 Greater Bay Area Science Forum, aiming to promote the transfer and transformation of CAS's latest high-quality scientific and technological achievements in Guangdong.

The 2025 Greater Bay Area Science Forum was held from June 6th to 8th in Guangdong, Hong Kong, and Macau, with the CAS Guangdong Provincial Science and Technology Achievement Matchmaking Conference held concurrently. The conference, hosted by the Bureau of Development Planning of CAS, the Guangdong Provincial Department of Science and Technology, and the Guangzhou Branch of CAS, focused on seven key areas: large-scale scientific facilities, low-altitude economy, marine ranching, artificial intelligence, new energy storage, biomedicine, and the "Hundred, Thousand, Ten Thousand Project."

Reporters observed that in the low-altitude economy exhibition area, the booths of institutions such as the Institute of Engineering Thermophysics and the Institute of Automation of CAS attracted numerous companies seeking cooperation. Various drones, real-time flight control screens, and countermeasure equipment systematically demonstrated CAS's full-chain innovation capabilities in the low-altitude field, from equipment development to system application.

In the marine ranching exhibition area, the "Upwelling Marine Ranching" model attracted significant attention. Researchers from the South China Sea Institute of Oceanology, Chinese Academy of Sciences, explained that this system, driven by wave energy, utilizes artificial upwelling control technology to construct a three-dimensional ecological aquaculture model of "fish-sea cucumber-shellfish-algae."

Furthermore, in the artificial intelligence exhibition area, the "MicroNeuro" neurosurgical robot system, the new era of AI-based artificial intelligence machines, and the "Rock Solid Science Foundation" large-scale model were on display. In the biomedicine exhibition area, key equipment development for space-based pharmaceutical manufacturing, "community brain health kiosks," and key technologies for next-generation artificial blood were showcased. In the "Hundred, Thousand, Ten Thousand Project" themed exhibition area, characteristic aquatic breeding projects such as redclaw crayfish and giant freshwater prawns, as well as modern agricultural technologies such as biomimetic cultivation of Ganoderma lucidum, injected technological momentum into the high-quality development of counties in Guangdong Province.

"The Jiangmen Neutrino Experiment was able to complete such high-precision measurements in just two months, indicating that the performance of the Jiangmen Neutrino Experiment detector fully meets design expectations!" said Wang Yifang, Academician of the Chinese Academy of Sciences, project manager and spokesperson for the Jiangmen Neutrino Experiment, at the results release conference.

It is understood that on November 19th, the Jiangmen Neutrino Experiment in Guangdong Province released its first physics results, measuring two key parameters of neutrino oscillation, with measurement accuracy 1.5 to 1.8 times higher than the previous best international level. The results are currently available in preprint form.

Ren Hai, President of the Guangzhou Branch of the Chinese Academy of Sciences, pointed out that since the beginning of this year, the construction and operation of the major scientific and technological infrastructure clusters deployed by the Chinese Academy of Sciences in Guangdong Province have achieved frequent successes. The advanced attosecond laser facility, the cold seep ecosystem research device, and the human cell lineage large-scale scientific research facility have all commenced construction; the high-intensity heavy ion accelerator has achieved full beam connection; and the Jiangmen Neutrino Experiment has officially started operation and released its first batch of results.

In addition, the matchmaking event also featured a special roadshow of achievements in two key areas: new energy storage and new energy, and biomedicine. Representatives from research institutes, enterprises, and investment institutions engaged in in-depth exchanges, showcasing a number of key technologies. Enterprises from 11 cities in Guangdong, including Guangzhou, released 20 key technological needs on-site, with an expected investment of 260 million yuan in research funding.

Huang Congli, Party Secretary of the Guangzhou Branch of the Chinese Academy of Sciences, stated that looking ahead to the 15th Five-Year Plan period, the Guangzhou Branch will adhere to a service-oriented approach, focusing on meeting major national and regional needs, promoting original innovation and tackling key core technologies in CAS research institutions in Guangdong, and concentrating on the core task of seizing the commanding heights of science and technology.
