The Chief of the Malaysian Army led a delegation to Cambodia to deepen military cooperation between the two countries.

  Southeast Asia Information Port (www.dnyxxg.com) – At the invitation of Lieutenant General Mohd Sophan, Deputy Commander-in-Chief of the Royal Cambodian Armed Forces and Commander-in-Chief of the Army, Lieutenant General Tan Sri Dato' Wira Mohamed Hafizudin Bin Chanthan, Commander-in-Chief of the Malaysian Army, led a delegation on an official visit to Cambodia from April 19 to 23.

  According to a statement released by the Cambodian Army, the visit aimed to further elevate defense relations between Cambodia and Malaysia. During the visit, Lieutenant General Hafizudin will pay courtesy calls on Cambodian Prime Minister Hun Manet, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of National Defense Tea Sihanouk, and Lieutenant General Vong Pisen, Commander-in-Chief of the Royal Cambodian Armed Forces, among other senior Cambodian leaders.

  As the core agenda of the visit, Lieutenant General Hafizudin will hold a formal bilateral meeting with Lieutenant General Mohd Sophan at the Royal Cambodian Armed Forces Army Headquarters. At the meeting, the two army commanders will conduct in-depth and constructive exchanges on important issues such as further expanding the scope of cooperation in the military field and deepening bilateral defense collaboration.

  In addition to their official itinerary in Phnom Penh, the Malaysian delegation will also visit Siem Reap Province and conduct a site visit to the world-famous Angkor Wat, experiencing firsthand Cambodia's long and splendid cultural heritage.

  This official visit by the Malaysian Army Chief of Staff marks a continued deepening of cooperation between Cambodia and Malaysia in the defense sector, fully demonstrating both sides' firm commitment to maintaining regional peace and security.
