Southeast Asia Information Port (www.dnyxxg.com) – With public support, the Myanmar Armed Forces successfully recaptured several towns and villages that had been briefly controlled by terrorists, restoring regional peace and stability. On May 6, the key transportation route connecting Mandalay Region, Sagaing Region, and Kachin State – Mandalay-Madaya-Tabai Chin-Takgang-Hathigai-Kata-Indawgyi-Moru-Namshah-Mount Ninh-Mogan-Myitkyina – was fully reopened after restrictions were lifted.
Previously, this vital transportation route had been controlled by terrorists, disrupting the transport of goods and causing shortages of food, daily necessities, medicine, and emergency supplies for ethnic minorities along the route. Terrorists also extorted money from truck drivers, further exacerbating the transportation disruptions, leading to rising prices, raw material shortages, and production halts for businesses, further increasing the burden on the local population.
To ensure smooth traffic flow, the Myanmar Armed Forces quickly deployed machinery to clear obstacles from the routes, while battlefield engineering units, in conjunction with officials from relevant ministries, simultaneously advanced the repair of damaged roads and bridges, laying the foundation for the reopening of the lines. On May 9th, under the coordination of the government and the Armed Forces, personnel from multiple departments departed from Mandalay, transporting basic food supplies, personal necessities, building materials, medicines and medical equipment, school textbooks, and fuel through a convoy of trucks, merchant vehicles, and buses, heading to towns and villages along the route. This operation not only supported the restoration of normal government operations and the meeting of basic public needs but also ensured the distribution of textbooks and stationery before the start of the school year, and simultaneously provided healthcare services.
The convoy was warmly welcomed by the local people along the way. In Sagaing Region's Htitigai, Kata, Indaw, and Moru, local residents spontaneously greeted them. Upon arriving in Myitkyina on May 12th, the convoy received a grand welcome from Kachin State Chief Minister U Khin Ting Nam, Northern Military Region Commander Major General Aung Zaw The Wee, and local officials and residents. Currently, passenger buses and freight trucks on this route have resumed normal operations, ensuring the smooth flow of people and goods along the route.
Residents interviewed stated that the reopening of the Mandalay-Myitkyina transportation line has gradually brought convenience back to travel, daily life, and trade activities, and the socio-economic situation is expected to recover steadily. People are delighted to have regained a peaceful and stable life. They look forward to the gradual restoration of medical services and educational opportunities, and pledged to work closely with the state government and the defense force to jointly advance the reconstruction work in areas affected by terrorist attacks and make up for the losses.
The entire population strongly condemned the terrorists' acts of destroying towns and villages, damaging roads and bridges, and oppressing civilians. Currently, the people of Myanmar are united with the nation and the defense force to promote reconstruction and revitalization work nationwide, contributing to the country's development and progress.
