Myanmar cracks down on online fraud and gambling; raids in Myawaddy township arrest 86 foreign nationals involved.

  Southeast Asia Information Port News (www.dnyxxg.com) – The Myanmar government has clearly stated that combating online fraud and gambling activities that endanger international society and global security is an inescapable national responsibility. To completely eradicate such illegal activities within Myanmar, the government is actively coordinating with domestic forces and neighboring governments to continuously conduct joint operations.

  Based on intelligence leads, foreign nationals were hiding in the Myawaddy Township area of ​​Kayin State. The Myawaddy Township Joint Security Team immediately launched a raid on the area. At 4 PM on March 14th, law enforcement officers conducted raids in different areas, arresting a total of 86 individuals at three locations suspected of involvement in the crimes.

  The specific arrests are as follows: 45 people were arrested in the building and surrounding houses 2500 meters southeast of Mae Tha Lai village, including 43 Chinese men, 1 Filipino man, and 1 Thai woman; 27 people were arrested in buildings and houses 2800 meters southeast of the village, all Chinese citizens (26 men and 1 woman); and 14 people were arrested in buildings and houses 2700 meters southeast of the village, including 10 Chinese men, 1 Malaysian man, 1 Filipino woman, 1 Thai woman, and 1 Vietnamese woman.

  Currently, all those arrested are being held in Myawaddy Township. A joint task force is conducting a full investigation, collecting personal information and relevant records of the arrested individuals, and will proceed with the legally mandated processing.
