
Southeast Asia Information Harbor (www.dnyxxg.com) – The Myanmar government is conducting a full-scale investigation to verify the identities of foreign citizens illegally residing in border areas and involved in online gambling, online fraud, and other criminal activities, and is systematically repatriating them to their countries of origin in accordance with relevant legal procedures.
During the operation, 16 foreign nationals were also identified and detained for illegally entering Myawaddy Township and surrounding areas of Kayin State via Thailand and neighboring countries. These 16 individuals include 9 Chinese citizens, 3 Sri Lankan citizens, 2 Ethiopian citizens, 1 Vietnamese citizen, and 1 Malaysian citizen; all have completed the screening process for repatriation.
To expedite the repatriation process, an inter-ministerial joint task force is comprehensively collecting necessary personal information and files from relevant individuals. U Kham San Lin, Chairman of the Myawaddy Township Administrative Committee and Township Head, along with relevant officials, inspected the progress of the work on-site, coordinating and assisting in the implementation of necessary measures.
The government also actively collaborates with neighboring countries, regional nations, and international organizations to accurately identify and apprehend foreign citizens involved in the operation and planning of online fraud rings and other illegal activities, imposing severe and effective legal sanctions on them in accordance with the law. Furthermore, the government is making every effort to coordinate efforts to ensure that foreign citizens and trafficked persons facing difficulties for various reasons can return to their homes as soon as possible.
