Southeast Asia Information Port (www.dnyxxg.com) – A coordination meeting on the implementation of the National Single Window system was held yesterday at Office No. 46 of the Internal Revenue Department. Dr. Kan Zaw, Chairman of the Committee and Minister of Finance and Taxation of the Union, attended the meeting and delivered a speech.

In his speech, Dr. Kan Zaw emphasized that Myanmar's continued advancement of the National Single Window system aims to promote unimpeded trade and the free flow of goods within the ASEAN region and globally. He pointed out that the implementation of the system must strictly adhere to the relevant provisions of the General Annex to the Kyoto Protocol revised by the World Customs Organization, the Trade Facilitation Agreement of the World Trade Organization, and the ASEAN Agreement on Trade in Goods. The system relies on advanced technology to achieve efficient and timely import and export customs clearance processes. To ensure the smooth implementation of the system, the Office of the National Defense and Security Council established the National Single Window System Implementation Steering Committee on August 12, 2025. Dr. Kan Zaw further emphasized that to ensure the system is fully completed and operational by 2028, all trade-related government departments and the private sector must strengthen coordination and cooperation, and participate efficiently in the system's construction, focusing on the implementation of key procedures such as funding approval, technology research and development, and legal improvement.

Subsequently, the Secretary-General of the Committee and Director-General of the General Administration of Customs provided a detailed overview of the current implementation progress of the National Single Window System and the key tasks for the subsequent phases.

During the discussion session, the Vice-Chairpersons and members of the Committee engaged in in-depth exchanges on key trade-related matters, covering areas such as banking services, payment system construction, investment promotion, legal regulations, and technical support. They clarified that such matters require systematic planning, efficient implementation, and timely execution.

Finally, the Committee Chairman offered guiding suggestions based on the discussion findings, coordinated the implementation of relevant supporting actions, and officially declared the meeting closed.
