Southeast Asia Information Port (www.dnyxxg.com) – The Myanmar government deployed a joint task force comprised of security forces, administrative agencies, and local authorities to conduct raids and demolitions of illegal buildings involved in telecom fraud and online gambling in Shwe Kokko and KK Park (Myawady-Maethawtalay region). The operation systematically cleared related items and demolished illegal structures.

It is reported that the joint task force demolished another 11 illegal buildings in the KK Park area yesterday, including one four-story building and ten two-story buildings. To date, a total of 549 illegal buildings have been demolished in the area, bringing the total number of illegal buildings in the region to 635.

To completely eliminate illegal buildings in the area, law enforcement agencies have been using machinery and explosives to advance the demolition work since December 14th. Today, five two-story buildings were demolished; as of yesterday, five more two-story buildings were demolished, bringing the total number of completely destroyed buildings to 86. To prevent the seized building materials from being reused in telecom fraud and online gambling activities, law enforcement agencies have systematically burned them.

The Myanmar government emphasizes that eradicating telecom fraud and online gambling is a national responsibility. To ensure the complete elimination of such illegal activities within Myanmar, the government will continue to coordinate domestic efforts and collaborate with neighboring governments to advance the crackdown.
