Southeast Asia Information Port (www.dnyxxg.com) – The Myanmar government has formed a joint task force comprised of security personnel, administrative agencies, and local authorities to conduct a special operation in Shwe Kokko and KK Park areas, hotspots for online fraud and gambling. The core of the operation includes the systematic demolition of illegal buildings and the destruction of seized items related to online fraud and gambling, aiming to eradicate illegal and criminal activities in the region.
As a key component of the crackdown, the task force today carried out demolition work in the third district of the Myawaddy-Maetawale (KK Park) area, demolishing 10 illegal buildings, including 5 three-story buildings, 2 two-story buildings, and 3 one-story buildings. To date, 466 out of a total of 635 illegal buildings in the KK Park area have been systematically demolished.

Furthermore, since December 8th, the joint task force has been conducting continuous search and cleanup operations in Myawaddy and surrounding areas of Kayin State, focusing on investigating the presence of illegal foreign nationals while simultaneously intensifying the crackdown on online fraud and gambling. Yesterday, law enforcement officers completed inspections of five illegal buildings, including one four-story building, two three-story buildings, one two-story building, and one single-story building.
On the same day, the task force systematically burned seized items related to online fraud and gambling in KK Park and Shwe Ko Khoi area of Myawaddy Township to prevent them from being used again in illegal activities.
It is understood that the Myanmar government has listed combating online fraud and gambling as an important national responsibility and will continue to coordinate with various domestic departments and deepen cooperation with neighboring governments to ensure that such illegal activities have no place in Myanmar.
