Southeast Asia Information Port (www.dnyxxg.com) – The Myanmar government has formed a joint task force comprised of security forces, administrative agencies, and local authorities to conduct raids and sweeps of illegal buildings in the Shwe Kokko and KK Park areas. These areas have long been breeding grounds for telecom fraud and online gambling. The task force's core responsibility is to systematically demolish these illegal buildings and dispose of any items used in fraud and gambling activities.
It is reported that the joint task force launched its search operation in Myawaddy and surrounding areas on December 8th. Yesterday, authorities demolished 15 illegal buildings in Myawaddy's Third District; to date, 413 of the 635 illegal buildings in the KK Park area have been demolished. On the same day, the task force also uncovered an illegal building involved in online gambling in Myawaddy's Fifth District, seizing 30 all-in-one computers.
To prevent the seized materials from being reused in fraud and gambling activities in Myawaddy's KK Park and Shwe Kokko areas, all seized items have been systematically destroyed.
The Myanmar government emphasizes that eradicating telecom fraud and online gambling is a national responsibility. To completely prevent the resurgence of these illegal activities within the country, the government will continue to coordinate with various domestic stakeholders and strengthen cooperation with neighboring governments to steadily advance the crackdown.
