Southeast Asia Information Port (www.dnyxxg.com) – The Myanmar government has formed a joint task force comprised of security forces, administrative agencies, and local authorities to conduct raids on illegal buildings involved in telecom fraud and online gambling in the Shwe Kokko and KK Park areas. The team systematically demolished seized items and illegal structures.

Yesterday, authorities demolished 20 illegal buildings in the third district. To date, 381 of the 635 illegal buildings involved in fraud and gambling in the KK Park area have been demolished, marking a significant step forward in the crackdown.

Regarding the repatriation of personnel, authorities deported 115 foreign nationals via the Myanmar-Thailand Friendship Bridge No. 2, including 71 Filipinos, 42 Ethiopians, 1 Egyptian, and 1 Rwandan.

It is reported that the joint task force has been conducting special searches in Myawaddy and its surrounding areas since December 8th. Yesterday's operation uncovered 48 new illegal buildings involved in online gambling; simultaneously, four Ethiopians were arrested in a building at No. 2 Shwe Thanh Street, Third District, Myawaddy, and four pieces of gambling paraphernalia were seized.

To prevent the case materials from being reused in fraud and gambling activities in KK Park and Shwe Kok areas, all seized case materials have been systematically destroyed, cutting off the material supply chain of illegal activities at its source.

The Myanmar government emphasized that eradicating telecom fraud and online gambling crimes is a core national responsibility. To completely prevent the resurgence of such illegal activities within the country, the government will continue to coordinate domestic efforts and deepen cooperation with neighboring governments to jointly advance the crackdown.
