  Southeast Asia Information Port News (www.dnyxxg.com) – The third meeting of the Myanmar-Russia Joint Anti-Terrorism Committee was recently held at the Jasmine Hotel in Naypyidaw.

  Lieutenant General Thanhtiq, Commander-in-Chief of the Myanmar Army, senior officers of the Myanmar Armed Forces (all members of the committee), and Lieutenant General Alexander Anatolyevich Matovnikov, Deputy Commander-in-Chief of the Russian Army, along with members of the Russian committee, attended the meeting.

  In his opening remarks, Lieutenant General Thanhtiq, co-chair of the committee, warmly welcomed the Russian Armed Forces delegation. He emphasized that through the alternating hosting of committee meetings, cooperation in areas such as technical cooperation, human resource development, and joint exercises, as well as mutual support in military operations against terrorism, the armed forces of both countries have achieved rapid flow of counter-terrorism information.

  Lieutenant General Matovnikov, co-chair of the committee, delivered a speech outlining specific measures to promote peace and stability in the Russia-Myanmar region and deepen counter-terrorism cooperation between the two militaries.

  The two sides engaged in in-depth discussions on key issues such as rapid response to terrorist attacks. The two co-chairs exchanged views on related cooperation matters, further consolidating their consensus on counter-terrorism cooperation.
