Southeast Asia Information Port News (www.dnyxxg.com) – The Myanmar government has formed a joint task force comprised of security forces, administrative agencies, and local authorities to conduct a special operation targeting the Shwe Kokko and KK Park areas. The operation focuses on illegal buildings used for telecom fraud and online gambling, using methods such as raids, systematic demolitions, and the burning of related items to crack down on related illegal activities.

Significant Results in Illegal Building Demolition

During this operation, the joint task force focused on demolishing illegal buildings in the KK Park area. To date, 341 of the 635 illegal buildings involved in fraud and gambling in the area have been demolished, with all 341 buildings recently demolished in a concentrated effort, and related gambling items were simultaneously burned.

Yesterday alone, the operation yielded further results: Eight illegal buildings were demolished in the Myawaddy-Mettawala (KK Park) area, including six two-story buildings, one three-story building, and one four-story building; eleven illegal buildings were demolished in Myawaddy Ward 3, including five three-story buildings, five one-story buildings, and one newly added three-story building. All demolished buildings were used for telecom fraud or online gambling activities, and the demolition was to prevent their re-use.

Suspects apprehended and citizens from multiple countries repatriated.

The joint operation team seized four ten-wheeled trucks near Myawaddy-Palu-Lai Khai Khao-Myawaddy road, around Myawaddy-Taling Myawaddy village, carrying 232 Chinese citizens, including 217 men and 15 women.

Yesterday, authorities completed the repatriation of 72 foreign citizens from five countries via the Myanmar-Thailand Friendship Bridge II: 56 from Indonesia, 7 from Ethiopia, 4 from Uzbekistan, 4 from Ghana, and 1 from Kyrgyzstan.

  Continuing Efforts to Eradicate Crime

To prevent the reflux of illicit materials, the joint task force systematically destroyed seized materials related to fraud and gambling, completely cutting off any possibility of reuse.

The Myanmar government emphasized that eradicating telecommunications fraud and online gambling is a national responsibility. It will continue to coordinate domestic efforts and work closely with neighboring governments to resolutely prevent the resurgence of such illegal activities within Myanmar.
