Southeast Asia Information Port (www.dnyxxg.com) – The Myanmar Armed Forces' warship "Thanlwin" recently returned to Yangon after providing specialized medical services to residents in Yangon Region and Ayeyarwady Region. It docked at Thilawa 2 Naval Pier, where it was warmly welcomed by members of the Myanmar Armed Forces stationed at Thanlin Station and their families.
This medical mission was carried out by a special medical team of the Myanmar Armed Forces, consisting of doctors, surgeons, and nurses, and provided services from November 18th to December 6th. The service area covered Cocokyun Township and surrounding villages in Yangon Region, as well as Hainggyikyun and Ngaputaw Townships in Ayeyarwady Region, bringing convenient medical support to residents in remote areas.
During the mission, the medical team treated a total of 6,836 patients, covering a wide range of conditions: 1,831 patients with common illnesses, 697 patients requiring surgery, 230 obstetric patients, 383 pediatric patients, 1,092 orthopedic patients, 400 ENT patients, 1,295 ophthalmology patients, and 944 dental patients. Among them, 88 people underwent surgery for common illnesses on board, and 145 underwent ophthalmological surgery. In addition, X-ray examinations were provided to 160 people, ultrasound examinations to 832 people, electrocardiogram examinations to 634 people, and laboratory tests to 466 people. The team successfully assisted 5 pregnant women in delivering their babies, and 3 patients were transferred to local military hospitals and general hospitals for further treatment.
This is the 19th time the medical team has carried out such outpatient missions. To date, they have provided medical services to 170,484 people and helped 27 babies be born safely, effectively alleviating the problem of "difficulty in accessing medical care" for residents in remote areas.
