
Southeast Asia Information Port (www.dnyxxg.com) – Yesterday morning, General Min Aung Hlaing, Chairman of the National Security and Peace Council and Commander-in-Chief of the Myanmar Armed Forces, met with officers, soldiers, their families, and trainees at the Pyin Oo Lwin military base. He emphasized the importance of unity and harmony among officers, soldiers, and their families, urging them to faithfully fulfill the duties entrusted to them by the state and the armed forces. He also outlined several initiatives, including defense construction, election security, local economic development, and urban development.
General Min Aung Hlaing pointed out that the Myanmar Armed Forces have historically participated in national political leadership, and based on historical experience and the current situation, they will continue to play this role. Once democracy matures and the influence of armed ethnic groups is eliminated, their involvement in parliament will be gradually reduced. He stressed that good discipline and robust logistics are key to boosting morale among officers and soldiers. He emphasized the need to maintain fair, orderly, and efficient administration, encourage the education of military personnel's children, and urged parents to fully support national education development.
Regarding the elections, General Min Aung Hlaing clarified that the elections will be held in three phases starting December 28th, with each phase spaced two weeks apart. He requested that the Armed Forces, Police Force, local militia, and Public Security Forces coordinate to implement security measures to ensure eligible voters can cast their ballots in accordance with the law, and urged voters to choose candidates who are committed to the interests of the nation and its people and possess a clear vision for governance.
Regarding economic development, he mentioned that Pyin Oo Lwin Arabica coffee has international market potential, but needs to expand its cultivation and production; the flower industry should not be limited to exhibitions but needs to expand into domestic and international markets to drive regional and national benefits. He emphasized that strong production capacity is the core of export earnings and increased trade revenue, and that domestic production has already expanded, with the manufacturing sector receiving active support.
Regarding the development of Pyin Oo Lwin, General Min Aung Hlaing stated that the city has a pleasant climate and rich traditions, and should vigorously promote education, leveraging its existing universities to create an educational city, allowing students and parents to participate in educational development under appropriate discipline and without excessive burden. He revealed that the government is comprehensively promoting the construction of a modern medical system, will build a new high-standard Tomingala Market, a railway hotel near the train station, and a new market, while improving tourist accommodation facilities and continuing to advance urban development projects.
After the meeting, General Min Aung Hlaing responded to the requests of the Armed Forces members and their families and extended his warm greetings. The meeting was attended by senior officers including Admiral Tin Win, Commander-in-Chief of the Navy, Admiral Tun Aung, Commander-in-Chief of the Air Force, and their wives, as well as senior officers from the Commander-in-Chief's Office and their wives, and relevant personnel from the Pyin Oo Lwin military base.
