
Southeast Asia Information Port (www.dnyxxg.com) – The Myanmar government is continuing a joint crackdown on illegal activities in the Shwe Ko Ko and Myawaddy-Mettawale (KK Park) areas. These areas have long been breeding grounds for online fraud, illegal online gambling, and other criminal activities. Currently, security personnel, in conjunction with administrative agencies and local authorities, have conducted raids on illegal buildings in the area, seizing a large number of items used in fraudulent activities, and are systematically proceeding with the demolition of illegal buildings. To date, 297 illegal buildings in the KK Park area have been demolished according to law.
Specifically, four more illegal buildings were demolished yesterday in KK Park Zone 3, including one two-story building, two three-story buildings, and one four-story building. It is understood that there are a total of 425 illegal buildings in this area, and the cumulative number of demolished so far has reached 149; out of a total of 635 illegal buildings in the entire KK Park area, 297 have been demolished.

Regarding the handling of individuals, authorities have repatriated 278 Chinese citizens suspected of involvement in online gambling, online fraud, and related criminal activities from the Shwe Ko Kho region via the Myanmar-Thailand Friendship Bridge Line 2. This repatriation operation strictly adhered to legal procedures and bilateral agreements while fully considering humanitarian principles.
Yesterday, security forces further strengthened patrols and controls in the Myawaddy region. Based on intelligence leads, law enforcement officers conducted a special search of Ward 3, successfully arresting 248 individuals, including 25 Chinese citizens and 223 Myanmar citizens, all suspected of involvement in illegal online gambling and fraud activities. 82 computers, 92 mobile phones, and other related equipment were seized at the scene. All arrested individuals will face legal sanctions.

During the enforcement process, officials also identified eight buildings previously used for fraud and gambling activities. To prevent such buildings from being illegally used again, one three-story building involved in the case was demolished yesterday.
Historical data shows that between January 30 and December 4, 2025, Myanmar detained 12,945 illegal immigrants. Following screening, 11,239 people have been repatriated to Myanmar via Thailand in accordance with legal procedures; the remaining 1,706 are awaiting repatriation and have been properly resettled and cared for.
The Myanmar government has clearly stated that eliminating online fraud and illegal online gambling is a key national task, and it will continue to deepen cooperation with neighboring governments to resolutely curb the spread of such criminal activities within its borders.
