
Southeast Asia Information Port (www.dnyxxg.com) – The Myanmar government is conducting a joint operation involving security personnel and administrative departments in the Shwe Kokko and KK Park (also known as Myawady-Maethawtalay) areas, focusing on combating telecom fraud and online gambling crimes. The operation includes entering the affected areas, demolishing illegal structures, and seizing assets involved in the cases, among other legal measures.
Demolition and Seizure Proceed Simultaneously; Implicated Buildings Gradually Eliminated
To completely eradicate the breeding ground for crime, authorities are focusing on demolishing illegal structures used for telecom fraud and online gambling activities in three areas of the KK Park area. As of now, 288 of the 635 illegal structures involved in the cases have been demolished. In the third area alone, 140 out of 425 structures have been demolished. Yesterday alone, a stadium, a two-story karaoke bar, and several two- and four-story buildings involved in the cases were demolished, totaling five structures.

The crackdown in the Ricoco area began on November 18th, and law enforcement has identified 169 illegal buildings used for online fraud. Starting yesterday, law enforcement began seizing and confiscating these buildings; 20 have been seized so far, and the remaining 161 will be dealt with gradually.
Those involved and their equipment apprehended; multiple nationals deported.
Since the operation began, authorities have detained 1,954 foreign nationals who illegally entered the country and seized a large quantity of equipment used in the crimes, including 3,310 computers, 21,870 mobile phones, 102 Starlink satellite receivers, and 22 routers. All seized equipment has been destroyed, and related criminal leads are still under further investigation.
Yesterday, authorities repatriated 411 foreign nationals via the Myanmar-Thailand Friendship Bridge No. 2 passage. These included 298 Chinese citizens, 37 Kenyan citizens, 36 Ethiopian citizens, 18 Ugandan citizens, 16 Filipino citizens, and one to two citizens each from Ghana, Zimbabwe, Rwanda, Togo, and Benin.

Furthermore, between January 30 and December 2, 2025, Myanmar detained 12,945 foreign citizens who had illegally entered the country. Of these, 10,601 met the deportation criteria and were repatriated via Thailand. The remaining 2,344 are being properly cared for and will be transferred back to their home countries after completing the necessary procedures.

The Myanmar government emphasized that eradicating telecom fraud and online gambling is a national responsibility. To prevent the resurgence of these crimes within the country, authorities will continue to integrate domestic resources and coordinate with neighboring governments to continuously advance the crackdown and resolutely safeguard regional security and order.
