Southeast Asia Information Port (www.dnyxxg.com) – The Myanmar government has recently been conducting joint law enforcement operations in the Shwe Ko Ko and Myawaddy-Mettawale (KK Park) areas, focusing on combating telecom fraud and online gambling crimes. Joint task forces composed of security personnel and administrative departments are comprehensively advancing the crackdown through measures such as area-wide searches, demolition of illegal buildings, and seizure of evidence.
KK Park Area: 283 Illegal Buildings Demolished
As one of the core areas of the crackdown, the KK Park area is focusing on demolishing buildings used for online gambling and fraud activities. Latest data shows that yesterday, the joint task force demolished 7 buildings in the third district of the area, including 1 one-story building, 4 two-story buildings, and 2 four-story buildings. To date, 135 of the 425 target buildings in the third district have been demolished, and a total of 283 of the 635 illegal buildings in the entire KK Park area have been demolished, effectively eliminating the carriers of criminal activities.
Ricoco Area: 132 Illegal Buildings Seized, Suspect Items Seized
Since the launch of the special operation on November 18, law enforcement agencies have searched 61 buildings in the Ricoco area. While no suspects were found, a batch of gambling-related items were seized. Simultaneously, investigations confirmed the existence of 140 illegal buildings in the area used for telecommunications fraud. To prevent criminal use, law enforcement agencies initiated seizure and confiscation procedures yesterday. Currently, 132 buildings have been seized (including 13 newly added on the same day), and the remaining buildings will be disposed of gradually.
Surrounding Equipment Destroyed, Over 12,000 Illegal Personnel Orderly Repatriated
In this series of operations, authorities have detained a total of 1,954 illegal immigrants and seized a large amount of equipment, including 3,310 computers, 21,870 mobile phones, 102 Starlink satellite receivers, and 22 routers. All of these devices have been included in the system's destruction process.

Repatriation efforts are proceeding simultaneously. Yesterday, Myanmar authorities successfully repatriated 131 Chinese citizens and 30 Pakistani citizens, totaling 161 people, through the second phase of the Myanmar-Thailand Friendship Bridge project. Statistics show that between January 30 and December 1, 2025, Myanmar detained 12,945 foreign citizens who illegally entered the country. Of these, 10,190 met the repatriation criteria after screening and have been repatriated via Thailand. The remaining 2,755 are being prepared to return home and have all received proper resettlement and care.
The Myanmar government stated that eradicating telecom fraud and online gambling crimes is an important national responsibility. In the future, it will continue to coordinate domestic law enforcement efforts and deepen cooperation with neighboring governments to further intensify its crackdown and ensure that such crimes have no place in Myanmar.
