
Southeast Asia Information Port (www.dnyxxg.com) – A joint task force comprised of security personnel, administrative officials, and local officials is continuing its crackdown on online fraud and gambling dens in Shwe Kokko and Myawady–Maethawtalay (KK Park, also known as Kota Kinabalu Park). These areas remain hotspots for such illegal activities. The joint task force systematically entered illegal buildings to conduct raids, seizing a large quantity of related items and demolishing or sealing off illegal structures. To date, 293 illegal buildings have been demolished in KK Park, and 161 illegal buildings have been sealed off in Shwe Kokko.
In KK Park's third district, enforcement teams achieved further success yesterday, successfully demolishing five illegal buildings, including two two-story buildings, one three-story building, and two four-story buildings. According to statistics, there were 425 illegal buildings in the area, of which 145 have been demolished. The entire KK Park area has a total of 635 illegal buildings, of which 293 have been demolished.
Regarding personnel screening, the verification results in the Myawaddy-Ryukko area show that 1,954 illegal foreign residents have been confirmed to be present. During this operation, the joint task force also seized a large number of related devices, including 3,310 computers, 21,870 mobile phones, 102 Starlink devices, 22 routers, and a large number of other tools used for online fraud and gambling. These items are being systematically destroyed.
Regarding repatriation, yesterday 360 foreign citizens suspected of participating in online gambling, fraud, and related crimes in the Myawaddy-Ryukko area were repatriated to their home countries via the Myanmar-Thailand Friendship Bridge No. 2. This repatriation was based on humanitarian considerations and bilateral cooperation mechanisms, and included 293 Chinese citizens, 56 Ethiopian citizens, and 11 Pakistani citizens.
Data shows that between January 30 and December 3, 2025, Myanmar authorities detained a total of 12,945 illegal immigrants. After screening, 10,961 have been repatriated to their respective countries via Thailand, and the remaining 1,984 are currently undergoing transfer preparations and are receiving proper care and supervision.
The Myanmar government has clearly stated that combating online fraud and online gambling is a core national responsibility. In the future, Myanmar will continue to deepen cooperation among domestic institutions and strengthen coordination with neighboring governments to vigorously promote the eradication of such criminal activities.
