Southeast Asia Information Port (www.dnyxxg.com) – Lieutenant General Win Zaw Moe, Commander-in-Chief of the Myanmar Police Force, led a Myanmar delegation to the 93rd Interpol General Assembly held in Morocco from November 24th to 27th.
The opening ceremony of the General Assembly was held on November 24th, with opening remarks delivered by Abdellatif Hamouche, Director General of the Moroccan National Security and Territorial Surveillance Department, and Major General Ahmed Nasser Raisi, President of Interpol. Approximately 800 people attended the Assembly, including representatives from 181 Interpol member countries, heads of observer organizations, heads of national central bureaus, and senior officials.
The General Assembly focused on reviewing and approving the General Agreement on Privileges and Immunities of Interpol, discussing the signing, ratification, and accession of the agreement by all member states. It also consulted on member states' signing of the United Nations Convention against Cybercrime, ratified on December 24, 2024, and on strengthening cooperation between member state representatives and national central bureaus, as well as promoting Interpol's role within the United Nations.

Furthermore, the Assembly formally approved Interpol's Strategic Framework for 2026-2030, which outlines four core objectives: to establish a trusted global center for rule of law information; to provide world-class investigative and operational support; to play a leading role in global rule of law processes; and to ensure that Interpol's governance, financial stability, personnel professionalism, and ethical standards remain at the highest levels.
The meeting also adopted several resolutions: allowing all member states to participate in regional meetings, establishing a platform for discussion on INTERPOL's authority in regional meetings; reviewing and proposing recommendations on data management frameworks and oversight mechanisms through the INTERPOL Information Systems Data Processing Committee; and approving the 2024 financial report and statements, the new statutory contribution standards for 2026-2028, the 2026 work plan, and the draft budget and budget estimates for 2027-2028.

The meeting also elected, by secret ballot, the Chair, Vice-Chairs, and members of the INTERPOL Executive Committee, whose terms will expire at the end of December.
