Southeast Asia Information Port (www.dnyxxg.com) – The Myanmar government has formed a joint task force to continue its crackdown on telecom fraud and online gambling in Shwe Kokko and KK Park areas, key hubs for such activities. The crackdown involves raids, confiscation of evidence, and demolition of illegal buildings.
In the Myawaddy-Mottawale (Kota Kinabalu Park) area, authorities are demolishing buildings in designated zones. To date, 122 out of 425 illegal buildings in Zone 3 have been demolished, and a total of 270 out of 635 illegal buildings in the entire Kota Kinabalu Park area have been demolished, with 3 more demolished yesterday.
Since the operation began on November 18th in Shwe Kokko, law enforcement has identified 135 illegal buildings, sealing off 101 and prohibiting their use for criminal activities. Yesterday, law enforcement searched 26 buildings in the area (including several multi-story residential buildings and warehouses), finding no suspects but confiscating their mobile phones and equipment. To date, authorities have arrested 2,042 foreign nationals who illegally entered the country in the region, and seized and destroyed a large number of related items, including 3,310 computers, 21,870 mobile phones, and 102 Starlink receivers.

Currently, foreign nationals detained in the Rikho area are undergoing information registration pending repatriation. From January 30 to November 29, 2025, Myanmar detained a total of 12,915 foreign nationals who illegally entered the country, of whom 10,029 have already been repatriated from Thailand, and the remaining 2,886 are ready for repatriation.
The Myanmar government considers combating such crimes a national responsibility and, in addition to coordinating domestic security forces, is working with neighboring governments to continue its crackdown.
